Yesterday we had the outer band of Hurricane Irene come through our city. The winds were 45-55 miles an hour, trees swaying, branches falling etc. This was Sammie's first tropical storm and I think it upset her.
You know how they say that animals can sense an impending quake, storm etc.? I think it effected her health wise. Right before the storm hit, we caught her chewing on a pen she stole off the desk. :-) It was pretty much intact when we took it away, but can't say if any small pieces (or even some ink) was eaten by her.
She threw up about 6 times in a span of 2 hours. I went to bed around 2 am and by then it seemed to have stopped.
Woke up this morning, fed the dogs and she threw up again after about a half hour. :-( Only once, so I am thinking (hoping) that her stomach still isn't settled yet from yesterday. Gave her a small cookie bone and she was able to keep that down. Right now she is at my feet playing with Gabby, Sammie the Snorkie seems to be ok...for now anyway.
