Hello All,
Everyone who knows me knows that I have no fondness for squirrels. Ever since one chewed a hole in the side of our house, got into the attic and decided to start a family I was done with them. We had to pay over $1000 to repair what those rodents did. So when we decided to put up a bird feeder little did I know that those feeders attract not only the birds but also those pesky squirrels.
Apparently Sammie The Snorkie doesn't care for them either. Earlier today she went outside to do her 'business' and spotted a squirrel in our bird feeder.
Sammie chased the rodent right into our pool and, of course Sam followed. The stupid squirrel ran into the skimmer thingy! I came out to see what all the commotion was in the yard and noticed Sammie pacing back and forth on the deck. I looked over by the pool and saw 'something' in the skimmer. Hoping it wasn't a dead something, I called the hubby outside so he can see what was going on.
In the meantime, Sammie jumps in the pool and swims over to the skimmer. Sam is frustrated because she can't get inside and get what is in there.
Finally giving up, she climbs out of the pool but stays on the deck not taking her eyes off of the skimmer. The hubby walks over to the pool and by that time the stupid squirrel has poked his head out and I am somewhat relieved that it isn't a 'dead' thing. Hubby lifts the skimmer lid and that squirrel ran out of the pool as if he had firecrackers up his butt.
Now I don't know if you have ever seen a wet squirrel but I assure you it's not a pretty site. It ran out of the pool so fast it almost looked as though he never even touched the water, and across the yard. My 3 year old grandson screamed thinking it was coming after him!
That darn squirrel cost me a MacDonalds Happy Meal that I had to buy my Grandson to help calm the poor child down, plus the cost of adding more chemicals to the pool because the rodent was swimming in it.
